At the seminar titled “Re-thinking Human Resources and Talents,” Ulrich, one of the world’s leading experts on human resources management, said despite its social and economic achievements, Vietnam should now more than ever consider how to make use of talented human resources, an important factor to its sustainable competitiveness besides technology and financial policies.

He suggested inviting overseas Vietnamese talents to help tackle domestic issues instead of only engaging them into full-time jobs as Vietnam is doing at present.

Nguyen Ngoc Son, assistant to the Foreign Minister, said Vietnam indeed considers high-quality personnel development as one of its key targets for 2011-2020.

Son said the Vietnamese government always pays attention to developing human resource training programs based on the actual demand of the labor market.
