People often think about leaders as those who lead an organization or are in a top-level position of a company.  In fact, leaders are not only those who preside at the senior levels of an organization, but are also those team members in various levels who demonstrate strong leadership capacity.  Particularly in today’s competitive and volatile economy, individuals who can lead from all levels can drive the success of a company.  Another common perception is that leaders are born rather than made.  In fact, leadership skills are not innate characteristics, but can be acquired and improved through learning and experience.

The Leadership Development Program for Visionary Leaders (LDP) is an intensive program aiming to help build and strengthen the leadership capacity of executives at different levels in Vietnam.  The LDP is developed by the Australian National University (ANU), in collaboration with PACE Institute of Leadership and Management (PACE) and the Global Development Learning Network (GDLN) Asia Pacific.  This program seeks to defy the perception that leadership is an inborn quality and challenge leaders and managers at all levels to step up to the plate.  Particularly in confronting the challenges of today’s globalized market, leaders and managers need to be ready to take charge quickly, delegate effectively, and generate effective cooperation.  By participating in the program, leaders and managers will learn to communicate persuasively, lead and motivate teams through complex and conflicting situations, and adapt to professional and personal changes.  In addition, on a broader level, participants will learn to crystallize their vision and direction for their businesses and attain the tools to not only build their capacity to lead and manage, but also to successfully bring their visions to fruition.
