Popularising reading culture by one-book project

Around 200 businessmen, artists and young people attended the opening ceremony of a project to bring books to disadvantaged regions, which aims to encourage the reading culture in Vietnam.

The o­ne Book project was initiated by SachHay.com organisation, which has famous members such as writer Nguyen Ngoc, Director of the Youth Publishing House Quach Thu Nguyet, philosophy researcher Bui Van Nam Son, and businessman Gian Tu Trung, the Founder and Chairman of PACE, a businessman training school.

 The project is launched with meaningful slogans “Disadvantaged regions’ intellectual standards” and “Everybody has books to read and study”. Any individual and organisation can join the programme by presenting at least a book or money (will be used to buy books) to SachHay.com.

 The project was kicked off o­n World Reading Day (April 23). A half an hour after the ceremony, the project had received over 34,000 books and tens of million VND.
